Biography:
American mathematician, who specialized in graph theory. He was widely recognized as one of the “fathers” of modern graph theory. Harary’s first publication went through much effort to be put into the Duke Mathematical Journal in 1950. This article was revised three times before it was finally published two years after its initial submission. Harary published topics related to the algebraic structure of the contract in 1949, then he published his first book in (1953), the year in which he began working in the teaching profession as an assistant professor at the University of Michigan. In (1959) he worked as an associate professor, then became a professor in mathematics in ( 1964), after that his fame began to spread globally due to his work in graph theory, where he published his first books in this field in (1965), and continued his work as a professor at the University of Michigan until (1986), and here Harary received an honorary fellowship from the National Academy of Sciences in India, he also served as an editor in (20) scientific journals within the field of graph theory, and was also elected as an honorary for life member of the Calcutta Association for Mathematics as well as the South African Mathematics Association. In addition to his teaching work, Harary became a research assistant at the center of Social Research at the University of Michigan. Starting in 1987, Harary worked as a professor in the Department of Computer Science at New Mexico State University, where he was one of the founders of the Journal of Combinatorial Theory and the Journal of Graph Theory. Between (1973) and (2007) Harary wrote five books in participation, all of these books are within the field of graph theory. Harary traveled around the world, where he published about (800) scientific papers with about (300) authors in mathematics and other sciences. Harary also lectured in (166) cities within the United States and (274) cities in (80) countries around the world. Harary also played a curious role in the award-winning film Good Will Hunting (1997). The film displayed formulas he had published on the enumeration of trees, which were supposed to be fiendishly difficult.
