Biography:
A writer, professor, consultant and entrepreneur, he specialises in Total Quality Management. He has lived and worked in the UK. After completing his postgraduate studies, he became a lecturer at the University of Bradford, where he was a professor in the School of Management. He is also the CEO of the European Centre for Best Practice Management in Bradford, and the founder and president of the Zairi Institute, an organisation designed to promote best practice management techniques and philosophies. Zairi has expertise in benchmarking and best practice management, advocating the link between theory and practice, and adapting academic standards to real-world situations. He has helped businesses, government agencies and NGOs around the world improve the quality of the goods and services they provide. He has authored or co-authored over 300 publications, including 17 books, in the areas of quality and related topics. He has also spoken at over 250 national and international conferences. Since the mid-1980s, Mohammed Zairi has been active in supporting organisations in the UK in adapting management thinking to best practice. He has worked closely with hundreds of organisations covering a wide range of public and private sector interests. His work in the 1980s in advanced manufacturing technology helped Paving the way for SMEs in particular to consider introducing advanced technology systems without having to face the difficulties and problems faced by large companies, since the early 1990s Mohammed Zairi has helped promote the use of standards in the UK, and has supervised and given hundreds of presentations and keynote speeches to senior management teams working in both the public and private sectors.
